Privacy & Safeguarding

GDPR Policy

Who we are

Pose ("we", "us") is a private photo-sharing app for school and private events. We are committed to protecting the personal data of all users, including children, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we collect

We collect:

  • Your email address and name (used to identify you within events)
  • Photos you upload within events
  • Event membership records (which events you have joined)

We do not collect location data, device identifiers, or any data from children directly — only parents and authorised adults may create accounts.

How we use your data

  • To display your name and photos within the events you join
  • To allow event organisers to manage guest access
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing

Data retention

Photos are automatically and permanently deleted 24 hours after an event ends. Event data and member records are retained until the organiser manually deletes the event. You may also delete your own photos and data at any time via your Profile page.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@poseapp.co.uk.

Safeguarding Policy

Our commitment

Pose is designed specifically for use at school events. The safety and wellbeing of children is our highest priority. We have designed the platform with safeguarding at its core.

How Pose protects children

  • Private by default — All events are closed. Photos are only visible to guests who have been given the join code by the event organiser (e.g. the school).
  • No public sharing — Photos cannot be shared publicly from within the app. There are no public profiles or searchable galleries.
  • Adults only accounts — Only parents, carers, and school staff may register. Children do not create accounts.
  • Organiser control — The event organiser (e.g. a teacher) creates and manages the event and controls who receives the join code.
  • Download & delete — Organisers can delete events and all associated photos at any time.

Reporting concerns

If you become aware of any content that is inappropriate or raises a safeguarding concern, please contact us immediately at safeguarding@poseapp.co.uk. We take all reports seriously and will act promptly.

School responsibilities

Schools using Pose are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from parents/carers before sharing event join codes, in line with their own photography and data protection policies.
